Finding the product documentation
In order to guarantee transparent and complete access to essential information, KRATOS SAFETY provides you with the following for each product:
• The technical data sheet
• The instructions for use
• The inspection instructions specific to the product concerned
• The declarations of conformity
• The EC type examination certificate
These documents are intended to help you understand, choose, use, inspect and correctly maintain your equipment.
Technical data sheet
The technical data sheet is used to present the product's characteristics, such as materials, dimensions, weight and so on. It also makes it possible to indicate the different uses of the product, the situations in which it is used or its limits of use, to help the buyer choose the right product according to the customer's need, to serve as a support for on-site recommendations, and to provide the instructions for implementation and maintenance.
Instructions for use
The instructions for use are the mandatory reference document that KRATOS SAFETY supplies with each item of PPE, in several languages. They include the operating instructions and precautions for the product, such as fitting it, any specific adjustments, or the presentation of the attachment points for harnesses. They also explain the meaning of the product marking, and compatibility of use with other components of a fall arrest system (EN363). The limits of use, the reminder of the obligation to carry out periodic inspections, the service life and the maintenance and storage instructions are also given.
Inspection guide
The inspection guide is the technical support that makes it possible to frame the visual and functional checks step by step for the competent person. It serves to guide the competent person during the annual periodic examination, after a fall or in case of doubt. Inside are the list of points to be checked, such as webbing, buckles, stitching, markings, tears and so on, as well as the definition of the rejection criteria (wear, cuts, burns, deformation, oxidation, illegible markings, and so on). This makes it possible to rule on the condition of the equipment and to decide whether to keep the product in service or dispose of it. Lastly, it also serves as a framework for completing the product's description sheet or inspection log.
EU Type Examination Certificate (AET)
The AET is a technical document providing an in-depth analysis of the equipment, used to demonstrate that the product concerned has undergone a type examination by a notified body such as QUINTIN CERTIFICATIONS, APAVE or SATRA. This certifies that the PPE meets the essential requirements of the applicable standards (EN360, EN361, EN795, and so on).
Declaration of Conformity (DoC)
The declaration of conformity is a legal document that we sign as the manufacturer to certify that the product complies with the applicable European directives. In our case, this is mainly PPE Directive 2016/425/EU. The document indicates the standards complied with and the notified body involved in the certification process. It is a mandatory document for the CE marking to appear on the product, it must be provided to the user of the equipment or to the distributor on request, and it is an essential document in the event of an inspection. Far more than the AET, the DoC is the document that provides proof of compliance with the PPE regulations.
Given how frequently these documents are requested, each of them is available in the "Documents" section of every product page, so that you can access all the necessary information as quickly as possible.
