Periodic general inspection: a guarantee of compliance

In accordance with standard EN 365:09-2004

PPE designed to protect against falls from a height must be inspected at least once a year by a competent person (see the related article), in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s procedures for periodic inspection. In addition, the user must systematically check their equipment before each use to ensure it is in good condition and functioning correctly.

These frequencies are indicative. They must be adapted according to the level of wear observed and the actual conditions of use. Any product without regular periodic examination cannot claim a service life of more than 10 years.

KRATOS SAFETY enhances the durability of its metal components

To extend the service life of its metal components, KRATOS SAFETY has developed a new nickel/zinc anti-corrosion treatment, which is now incorporated into the manufacturing process for its metal components. This treatment has undergone salt spray testing and demonstrated a resistance of 180 hours, ensuring improved corrosion resistance and enhanced product durability under demanding operating conditions. This development forms part of a commitment to the continuous improvement of equipment quality, offering a dual benefit: enhanced long-term protection for the user and a more responsible approach to manufacturing. We are thus continuing our efforts to offer solutions that are both high-performing and sustainable.

Storage and commissioning

A prior periodic examination is mandatory before first use.
At KRATOS SAFETY, safety is not limited to manufacturing reliable products. It also relies on rigorous monitoring, regular inspection and the expertise of certified inspectors.
