CONNECTORS

EN362 :A connector is an essential link in a fall arrest system. It's essential to understand the different uses

Class B Class T Class A Class Q

Use :The connectors are mainly used as connection elements between an different components (eg : harness/lanyard). They can also be used as anchor points. In any case the connectors should work along the major axis, and in one direction at a time. They should be locked (screw or automatic) during their use and should not be used on a outside support area.

How to choose ?

Differents criteria must be taken into consideration

Opening / locking system:

  • Screw locking system : to be reserved for occasional manipulation;
  • Automatic locking system : to be used for frequent handling.

Shape:

  • Oval, use essentially with equipments that have 2 points in support on the connector (eg:pulley...);
  • Asymmetric, used in priority because it allows the proper positioning between the two connected components;
  • Large size, used to anchor on metal structures or large sizes;
  • Quick link, used when you want to make a quasi permanent connection between two components.

Material:

  • Steel, adapted to difficult conditions, these connectors are mainly used for fixed anchors or for connecting to metal structures;
  • Aluminium, to be preferred when weight is an important criterion for the work to be performed (eg,rescue).

Opening :

  • Connector with an opening<30 mm, mainly used as connection element;
  • Connector with an opening>30 mm, mainly used as anchor element on a structure.

The resistance must also be taken into account when choosing connectors

 All our connectors are supplied with a steel anti corrosion zinc electroplating which provides them an excellent corrosion resistance.
